Thief Paine

Why I made it: I love Paine first off. This is my second Paine costume.. I was at AMA and I saw the most awesome Gippal and it just sort of made me want to do another Paine.. so since Pixiekitty had Thief Rikku I was like… hmmmmm Otakon? Then we convinced Tenshinoitami to do Yuna and poof a YuRiPa was formed! I will have more pictures of the three of us in the group cosplay page.

How I made it: I decided to do it a bit differently than most I have seen. First off I didn’t use any spandex except on the thong, trim, and boots. The shorts and top are made of cotton fabrics, bubble gauze for the sleeves. All of this was hand dyed from white fabric. The stitching is ribbon of course. I had to put craft wire in the holes on the legs in order to get them to keep their shape. The wig I had previously made for Omatsurishi Paine.

The boots are my favourite part by far. My first pair of boots to ever modify. Lots of hand sewing and gluing went into these.

The weapons were a joint effort between me and Pixiekitty. I cut them and tried to glue them, but then when that screwed up we ended up having her do everything else. She got them to work nicely though, and we painted a nifty gradient on them (my idea but she did it).

Likes: I love my boots, and my weapons. Also my wig.. the costume is surprisingly flattering too. The thong on the outside actually looks.. good!

Dislikes: The thong kept coming down off my hips.. it was evil. Also the bra kept showing a bit under my top that was evil too.
