Bubble Head Nurse

Character Name: Bobblehead/ Bubble Head Nurse

Time Consumed: 8 hours or therabouts

Why I made it: This was one of my ever-famous last minute descisions for a costume. I desperately wanted something new for Anime Weekend Atlanta and I also wanted to do something horrifying. I get the urge sometimes. So I decided after a bit of deliberation that I would make the nurse from Silent Hill. I had most of the materials on hand excepting the hat and the hoes and the makeup.

How I made it: Nurse was an extremely fun costume to make. I draped a pattern for the dress on my self (it takes a lot to make my mannequin change sizes T_T). Then I made the dress with white twill and a white cotton spandex blend for lining. When the dress was all done I soaked it in tea, then burned the edges and then added all the blood and dirt with various makeups. The shoes and hoes were also soaked in tea as was the hat.

The head was the most difficult part. I first tried making it with mesh and rigid wrap, that didn’t work so well. Then I remade the base with burlap and some mesh for the air holes then added leather over that. The leather was then painted and the hat attached. It fastens with Velcro in the back

This costume was in Ambrosia’s award winning skit at AUSA, however I wasn’t wearing it. I didn’t have time sadly.

Likes: I love the way it’s absolutely scary. I also love my boobs (lots of padding) and the makeup with the veins (done by myself and Reanna).

Dislikes: My usual gripe.. I don't like how short it is. Also the shoes hurt like the dickens.
