Character Name: Mon Mothma

Source: Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Total Cost: 100 USD

Time Consumed: 50 hours

Why I made it: I have always been a huge Star Wars fan. One day I decided that the 501st wasn't enough for me, and that I wanted to join the rebel legion too. So I searched for an adequate costume.. and searched.. and searched. Finally one day the answer came! Mon Mothma! She was young in this version and she had red hair just as I did at the time.

Thus the costume commenced once I got home from college and I finished it in all of a week.

How I made it: I made the mantle first with winter white fabric and quilt batting. Then I sewed lace (hand sewn on the edges) and little puffs at the collar. The pattern was draped by me. Next I drafted a pattern for the dress and constructed it with upholstery fabric and cotton lining. My mother helped me by pinning the hem while the dress was on me so I could get it straight.

The hana pendant was made of primo sculpy and chains.

Likes: The costume makes me feel so regal. I like the hana pendant too.

Dislikes: It's like wearing a sofa. The costume is so ridiculously hot!
