Character Name: Daniella

Source: Haunting Ground (also known as Demento )

Total Cost: 150 USD

Time Consumed: 15-25 hours maybe?

Why I made it: Daniella, what can I say about Daniella? I love her so much. She is the most beautiful character I have seen in a very, very long time. Pixiekitty had been raving about the game Haunting Ground for a while before I was able to actually play any of it. Thanks to my friend Ryan, I played the first bit of it finally, and as soon as I saw Daniella I was in awe. She was coldly beautiful and elegant to the extreme with a costume and hair that looked to be a very interesting challenge. I immediately said that I would cosplay her.

As it turns out, Pixiekitty had been wanting to cosplay Fiona and for me to cosplay Daniella. Funny how things like that work out.

How I made it:This was in all a rather difficult costume to construct. The first part that I tackled was the shirt. Originally I had planned to have it be long sleeved and have the cuffs be a part of the shirt itself, but I realized it had to have short sleeves when I saw how tight the sleeves needed to be.

The collar on the shirt was complicated, it involved individual pickets sewn onto another piece and then using the satinstitch on the machine between them each. The beads are handsewn but that was one of the last things I did. The shirt is fitted with four buttons, two snaps and three hooks.

The Jacket and skirt came next. Both are fully lined with black and or gold. The shell of these items is made with green velveteen. The designs are all hand cut appliqué, that was certainly a chore I tell you. The jacket is fully interfaced save for the sleeves.

The apron is made with silk Noil and a corseted base. The lace was all hand cut from vinyl in order to get at least some semblance of the correct format for it.

The wig was by far the most difficult part. After much work I was able to make two huge ringlets using (pixiekitty’s idea) paint rollers as curlers. The weapon was made from the plexiglass on a picture frame and hot glue was used to dull down the sharp edges.

Likes: I love this costume as a whole especially the way it makes me feel in it. It isn’t the most comfortable of costumes but I feel beautiful in it in a truly psychotic way. As for parts of it that I love, the collar on the shirt and the lace on the apron.

Dislikes: I wish I could have made the wig look somewhat better, but unfortunately that did not work out.
